Spend an evening in the company of Cedric Hatworthy Esq, late of this parish. An English gentleman, eccentric and collector. If you’re lucky, he may bring along some of his favourite artefacts. But don’t, whatever you do, touch them. Because that’s what started all the trouble in the first place…

A concert dedicated to the enigmatic song of the Nightingale.

Catalan soprano Marta Arbonés, with accompanist Maria-Neus Devesa, perform the Spanish Zarzuela and other operatic arias imitating the nightingale in a programme of trills, roulades, runs and all sorts of ornamentations to show how closely the human voice has come to imitate the seductive song of the nightingale.

Sydenham Arts Festival kicks off its opening weekend with five fabulous hours of free family fun, entertainment and activities at Home Park. Celebrate our third year with clowning, children’s arts workshops, exhibitions, sports, craft stalls, teenage techno bus, and…yes, more!

Bring a picnic, or sample some treats from our global food stalls. This promises to be a great afternoon for all ages…with a few surprises in store.
