A Talk by Steve Grindlay

This fascinating talk will take us into the eight or more cinemas and performance spaces that were once licensed for public entertainment in Sydenham and Forest Hill. In these spaces we will also meet amateur dramatics groups and actors, both stage and screen, all of whom had strong links with the local area.
.
Steve Grindlay is a local historian who has lived in Sydenham since 1975. He sits on the Conservation sub-committee of the Sydenham Society where he advises on listings and the historical background of buildings of interest in the area.
